3 hours Afternoon siesta made COMPULSORY for everyone....Naij pls follow good example

If you like a mid-afternoon snooze, there's a chance you're already househunting in foreign climes.

A mayor in a Spanish town has declared that it's compulsory for all residents to take a siesta during the day – and employers must agree.

The town of Ador in Valencia has decreed that everything must close and people are to bed down between the hours of 2pm and 5pm, the peak heat hours in the country.

Nap Time: Having a break and keeping it down are now part of a Spanish towns rules

Mayor Joan Faus Vitòria even stated that residents have to keep the noise down during these times and children are to be kept indoors so other people can make the most of their rest time.

An Ador town hall spokesman told The Local: "Everything closes between 2pm and 5pm. Bars, shops, the swimming pool, everything.

"Children should stay indoors between 2pm and 5pm so that they do not go outside and play with balls and disturb older people."

Sleep training could stamp out prejudice Sleep well: Some studies have shown a positive link between cardiovascular health and the siesta

Apparently the town's farming roots have fed into their common snoozes, with agricultural workers pausing for a break during the hottest hours of the day.

Residents are assured that no action will be taken if they choose not to sleep.

Siestas are historically common throughout the Mediterranean and Southern Europe, known as riposo in Southern Italy.

Some studies have shown a positive link between cardiovascular health and the siesta.
