Rat 'bit baby in hospital incubator'
A newborn baby was bitten by a rat that crawled inside a hospital incubator, it has been reported.
The premature child, who was just hours old, was removed from the incubator after nurses heard it screaming and then spotted the rodent.
Footage from inside Western Regional Hospital in Belize, US, show the rat scurrying around as nurses try to catch it.
Eventually it's pulled out of the incubator by its tail.
Hospital administrator Bernadette Seaver told 7 News Belize confirmed the rat was found inside the incubator and immediately killed.
She told media the rat may have crawled in via an air conditioning vent.
The child is reported to be in a stable condition.
